Why I chose WordPress
I got involved in internet marketing in early 2009 after I was retrenched due to the global economic recession. I didn’t choose internet marketing it chose me because at the time I was desperate to earn an income.
Unfortunately I had to get scammed a few times first though…. But after being scammed and wasting money that I didn’t have to waste on promises of earning a fortune I started to do my research. I had heard of people making a successful living from working online but I didn’t know how. So I joined a few Work from home chat forums and learnt about Affiliate Marketing.
All the forums said that you must have a website so I got a website together but it wasn’t sufficient to get traffic to my site. So even though I had the website with the Affiliate products I wasn’t making any sales! I tried several methods for getting traffic to my site but the drips and drabs that came to my website didn’t buy anything.
About a year ago when I was on the verge of throwing Affiliate marketing to the wind I did a training course offered by a very well known and successful affiliate marketer and it was during this course that I was introduced to WordPress, it was highly recommended as the best site that one can have for building a successful Affiliate Marketing site.
My biggest problem was that I didn’t know how to use HostGator the highly recommended Web Hosting site and I also didn’t know how to propagate a domain name server to the hosting site or even install WordPress or even operate WordPress to its full potential. So I did a training course and learnt all the skills for hosting websites, basic web design, DNS and I specialised in WordPress.
I then built my first Affiliate website using WordPress and just from knowing the correct plugins to install and how to install the plugins I got amazing results overnight, suddenly I had traffic coming to my website and I hadn’t even done any advertising or promoting of my website!!!
Anyway to cut a very long story short since I have been using WordPress I have been making sales of my Affiliate products as well as my own products.
